Desmond Peter MA (Oxon) FCA MBA

Peter is a business improvement consultant with experience at finance director level gained within the IT, facilities management, chemical, brewing, retail, property, advertising and freight sectors. Following an Oxford degree in 1977, Peter qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in the UK with a secondment to South Africa. He left the profession in 1983 to join Mitchell Cotts in Johannesburg where he progressed to Finance Director of an operating subsidiary. On his return to the UK in 1986 he completed an MBA at Sheffield Business School and is Visiting Fellow at The London Institute, Richmond International College and Webster Graduate Studies Centre. He is a Certified Management Consultant, a member of the Richmond Group of Independent Consultants and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Felgate Yendor

Yendor is an associate of bizliteracy based in South Africa and has extensive business experience in Africa and the Middle East. He began his HR career after obtaining a Masters Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and progressed to hold senior HR roles in freight, fleet and financial services industries, where he has been involved in business transformation, large scale organisational change, mergers and acquisitions. Yendor’s particular area of expertise is the resourcing, movement and training of large volumes of people. Yendor has two abiding work passions. One of them is working with people across the human capital spectrum and the other is working in Emerging Markets.

David Lange is an experienced global management consultant, facilitator and speaker, bringing over 15 years experience in organizational transformation and cultural change initiatives to clients around the world. He has worked for some of the most widely recognized global consulting firms during the course of his career and is currently owner and President of Aventine Associates, LLC, in Pennington, NJ, USA, and is an exclusive partner of Bizliteracy. He has direct management experience as the President of TMC (Princeton, NJ, USA), where he led the sale of the company to Berlitz, Inc, prior to founding Aventine Associates in 2008. TMC is a world recognized consulting and training firm specializing in global culture and cultural transformation. At TMC, David directly served clients such as American Express, Novartis, Microsoft, Gap Inc., Campbell Soup Co., Wachovia, Procter & Gamble, Corning, Dow Chemical, Pfizer, Honeywell, MasterCard Worldwide, Air Products, and MetLife, among others, specifically working on organizational transformation and M&A work for Procter & Gamble and Gap, Inc.
Prior to TMC, David spent over 10 years working at McKinsey and Co and Egon Zehnder International in Europe and the USA. David obtained his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Virginia, with a year of study at the Universit© Aix-Marseille where he completed a minor concentration in French Language and Literature. He earned his MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and has lived and worked extensively in France, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, and the UK. He speaks Hungarian, French and German in addition to his native English.

Mare Johann

Johann Marc co-founded ALMetrics, an independent consulting firm, specialising in the provision of financial risk and profitability management services. This includes consulting, system selection and implementation, outsourcing and strategy development and implementation services. He has 19 years experience in the practical application of financial risk management, both from a practitioners and consulting perspective. His client base includes financial institutions, multi-national banks and South Africa’s transport utility company Transnet. He has delivered various papers at conferencesin South Africa, Switzerland, Spain, Cyprus, Italy, the UAE and Portugal on ALM, Capital Allocation and Profitability Measurement.

Paterson David

David Paterson is a UK-based associate of Bizliteracy Solutions, specialising in cross-cultural management consulting and training and has previously worked with one of our major clients in Ghana. He has lived and worked worldwide in a 30 year international management career with major companies, including British Airways and DHL. He holds an MA in Intercultural Communication and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute of the UK.

Pirlet Jean-Charles

Jean-Charles spent seven years in the Credit, Corporate and Investment Banking divisions of Citibank, including two years in the World Corporation Group in London as Vice-President managing a portfolio of UK multinationals on a worldwide basis. He subsequently worked as Director of Project Finance and Acquisition Financing for Security Pacific in Frankfurt, Germany, before moving to South Africa in 1993 where he became Senior Vice-President, Corporate Bank Head, for the local operation of ABN-Amro. In 1997 his team was voted best Corporate Bank in South Africa by the annual PriceWaterhouseCoopers survey of eighty multinational companies operating in the country.
Since 2002 he has been training major financial institutions such as Barclays, Merrill Lynch, Royal Bank of Scotland, West LB or CIBC in the UK, Europe and the Far East concentrating on Credit Analysis, Loan markets and Basel II and assisting banks with the practical implementation of the new Accord. He is Programme Director and Basel II specialist at Bank T& D a London based training and consulting firm. He holds an LLB and an LLM in Tax Law from the University of Liège in Belgium.

Pirlet Ingrid

Ingrid Pirlet is an Associate of Bizliteracy and a senior banker with over 25 years of experience. She has held a number of senior positions including Head of International Operations, Chief Operating Officer, Head of Internal Audit, Group Compliance Officer and Operational Risk Manager at various banking institutions including Citibank and Barclays Bank plc. She has been instrumental in setting up a new investment bank, a compliance function and participated in integration, process re-engineering and change management initiatives. She has recently worked on the ABN Amro Integration Project within the Group Treasury Function at the Royal Bank of Scotland plc, London, UK.

Plessis Sean Du

Sean Du Plessis is a senior manager and IFRS leader at Meyers Norris Penny (MNP), the 6th largest public practice firm. Sean provides consulting and advisory services to clients. He is a Chartered Accountant from South Africa and has over twelve years of experience in both industry and public practice. Prior to joining MNP, Sean™s IFRS experience includes leading and completing the IFRS conversion for Barclays Bank PLC (Barclays) in twelve African countries and RMB International (Dublin) Ltd; the Irish subsidiary of a large South African merchant bank. Upon successful completion of the Barclays™ conversion, Sean was appointed Barclays™ IFRS technical manager for Africa and was responsible for IFRS training at the head office and country level, addressing technical IFRS issues, financial statement IFRS compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation for processes impacted by IFRS. Since joining MNP, Sean has provided IFRS services for various clients in various industries. Furthermore, Sean has developed detailed IFRS training material to assist MNP staff and clients in understanding IFRS and facilitates IFRS training for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO) and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA).

Stewart Roger PhD

Roger works with directors and senior executives of medium and large companies in Southern Africa. He has a specific interest in directorship and governance, strategy, innovation / business development and value based management. He assists mainly with corporate growth, renewal or recovery and with achieving enduring enterprise excellence. He also mentors and coaches and also has interests in established and new businesses.
He has served clients in a number of industries including, inter alia, health care, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, engineering, information and telecommunications, academia, plastic and woven products, agriculture, agro-processing, food and animal feed, industry organisations and in the non-profit sector. Roger is a part-time member of the faculties of local business schools. He contributes to both executive and director education in open and customised programmes, to large corporations and to executive MBA students from Europe. He also provides volunteer services to students at TSiBA Education (Tertiary School in Business Administration).
